1192 Sidewalk Improvements - Calkins Addition(Published in the Salina Evening Journal, , 19030
ORDINANCE NO.
An ordinance condemning and providing for the removal and reconstruction
of certain sidevalk in the city of Salina, Kansas, ratifying and
confirming the acts of the Committee on Sidewalks of the city
council.in doing the same, and making a special assessment and
levy of taxes to pay the cost of the same.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: --
Sect ion 1. That the plan sidewalk ,in front of and adjacent to
Lots numbered 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, in Block'numbered 2, and Lots num-

1, 89 15 and -16';. in Bloc!( numbered 3, Calkins' addition to the city
of Salina, Kansas; as the same was and.existed prior to the 16th day of
December,. 1901, and the plank walk in front of Lot numbered 63 on Fift14
street as the same was and existed prior to the 21st day of April, 1902,
be and such walk is hereby condemned as worn out, worthless and unfit for
repaid, and that such walk be removed, rebuilt and reconstructd:d ae pro-
:vided by the provisions of Ordinance No. 1038 of the printed ordinances
of the city of Salina.
Sec. 2. That, the action of the Committee on sidewalks of the.,
city council in removing and rebuilding said walk is hereby approved,_,
confirmed and ratified; that such work has been done in accordance with
the provisions of said Ordinance No. 1038, and that such walk as laid
under the direction of said Committee on Sidewalks is hereby approved
.and confirmed'.
Sec. 3. That the expense of removing and rebuilding said walk by
said committeeshall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon,
according to the front foot thereof, and there is hereby levied and
_assessed against the lots hereinafter designated and described the re-
spective amounts set opposite such lots a special tax to pay for,the
building ajconstruction of such walks, to -wit:

and the -city clerk shalt,certify such assessments to the county clerk of
Saline -c ountif , Kansas., to be by him placed upon the tax rolls of Saline
county, Kansas, to be collected as.other taxes. _Y
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once iri the,Salina Evening Journal.
