An ordinance relating to the care of the fire ala-
rm telegraph system,
and repealing section Five of Ordinance No. 796.
Be- it ordained by the l,iayor and .Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. The Cormiittee- on Fire Department of the city council
shall have*-t.he superintendence of the fire alarm telegraph system, which
shall he under such committee Is control and management.- Such committee

shall be
the duty of such
superintendent to main -
twin a vigilant, supervision over. such fire alarm system, and keep in
per-fect working ord6r-n,t.he central station, wire circuits, electro-iue--
chanical bell strikers, gongs, indicators, signal boxes and all.fire
alarm apparatus; to make proper tests at least eery twenty-four
hours, and Make any deeded repairs that the Fire Department Committee! may
decide necessary to be made. He shall deliver keys for signal boxes to
responsible persons at easily accesible places, and furnish to the city
clerk the names of the persons, location of the place and nuriber of keys
so distributed, who shall keep a record of the same.
Sec 2. Such superintendent may receive such compensation for

to be paid as other claims against the city are paid,

per year, and such compensation shall only be paid upon the written report
of such committee shoring that such duties as are,,.,prescribed in sect ion
one of this ordinance have been performed by such superintendent to the
satisfaction of said Fire Department Committee.
Sec. 3. That section five, or Ordinance No. 769, passed and
approved May 2.5, 1891, he and the same is hereby repealed.-
