An Ordinance providing for the condemnation, removal and reconstruction
of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordaineUby the Mayor and Councilmen of the. City of Salina:
Section 1. That each and all of the following sidewalks and
parts and pieces of sidewalks in said.city, to -wit:. all the board walk

on the south side'of,Ash street, between.Second.and Third streets,, in the
original plat; the walk on the south side of lot numbered 78, on Second
street, the south side of lots numbered 77 and 78 and the north side of
lot 80, on Third street; the walk on the south side of lot numbered 77 and
the north sideof lot xm02RzxxA numbered 79, on Fourth street; the walk
in front of lots 109 dnd 111 on Eighth street, lots 179 and 181 on Santa
Fe avenue; the walk in front of lots 11, 12, 15 and 16 on Ash street,
University addition, lots 26 and 28 on Ash street, Wilson's addition;
lots 191 20, 211 22, 23 and 24 on Park street, cleaver's addition; lots
4., 51 61 79.81 9, and 10, in Block 3, Eleventh street, Morrison's addi-
tion; all the isalk on the east side of the College Campus of the Salina
Normal University; the walk on the east side of. Bishop's Reserve, on
Ninth street, Bishop's addition; the walk on the east side of the C. R.
Faulkner property, on Ninth street., in Bishop's addition, and the walk in
front of lots 9, 10,13 and 14, on Ninth street, Bishop's addition, all in
the city of Salina, Kansas, be and the same are hereby condemned as
worn out_, worthless and unfit for repair, -and that said walks and each of

them be removed, rebuilt and reconstructed as required by this ordinance.
Sec. 2. That the owner or owners of each of the several lots and
parts of lots mentioned in Section 1 of this ordinance be., and they are
hereby, required to remove the sidewalks 'condeLrn�ed by Section 1 hereof on
or before: hte W�day of �, 1902, reYIuild and reconstruct
the same, in the manner and of the material specified in this"ordinance,
on or before the e" -day bf __, 1902.
Sec. 3. That the sideirralk herein provided for shall be of even
grade thr'ouj houtC''to be determined by they city engineer — z.n_d shall be
out and removed, where., the ovvne*r or owners thereof fail, neglect or refuse
so to do before that date, and shall, as soon as practicable after the
x.aid /V �1ay of ,• 1902, cause such sidezn,alks to be rebuilt and
reconstructed ir, front of, along and adjacent to all or any of the prem-
ises described in Section 1 hereof, whose owners fail, neglect or refuse
to rebuild and reconstruct such walks as required by this ordinance, and
shall report its proceedings, together with, the length of the walk so
rebuilt and. reconstructed along and in front: of said lots and premises,
and the actual cost thereof,' to the city council.
Sec. 5. The expense of removing and rebuilding such walks by

said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon,
and collected as other taxes against said reel estate.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the "Salina Daily Republican -Journal."
