An Ordinance authorizing the purchase of•certain real estate in the city
of `Salina, Kansas,,therein mentioned and described, and making an
aippropriation for the payment of.the same.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of .the City,of. Salina:
Se,ct:ion 1. That the Mayor and Council are hereby authorized to
purchase, for and on behalf of the city of Salina, Kansas, of and from
the person or persons holding the legal title -to the same, at and for the
price and consideration, and no more, of Six hundred (600) Dollars, the
following piece and parcel of real estate, located and situate in said city
of Salina, and described as follows, to -wit:
Commencing at a point twenty-two hundred and twenty ' (2220) feet
west from the southeast corner of the southeast quarter - of Section Ten
(10), in Township Fourteen (14), South, Range Three (3) west of the Sixth
Principal Meridian, thence running north parallel to the east line'of
said quarter section six hundred thirty-eight and five -tenths (638.5)
feet, thence- west to the west line of said quarter section, thence south
along said line to the southwest corner of said quarter section, thence
east four hundred forty-one and eight -tenths (441.8) feet, to the place
of beginning, in =± Saline county, Kansas, and being that piece or par-
cel of real estate,formerly known and described as Block 42 and the sough
one-half of Block 35 of J. C. Rash & Son's addition to the said City of
Salina, Kansas.
Sec. 2. That there be and hereby is appropriated out of the city
treasury the sum of Six.Hundred (600) Dollars, for the purpose of paying
for the real estate mentioned and described in section one of this ordi-
nance; Provided, however, that such sum shall not be paid out.: until the
mayor of said city shall have been furnidhed with a good and sufficient
warranty deed for such real estate, conveying•.to said city the absolute
and fee simple title to the.same.
Sec. 3. The mayor and city clerk of said city are hereby author-
ized to draw a warrant on the city treasurer for the pay*ent of the said
sum of $600.00; upon compliance with the conditions set forth in section
two of this ordinance.
