An Ordinance providing for the condemnation, removal and reconstruction
of certain sidewalk in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the ,Mayor and"Councilmen of the- City of Salina:
Section 1. That each and all of the following described s ide-
.valks in said city,to-:vit: the walk in front of and adjacent to lots
numberedo 56, 589 600 620 64 and 66 on Third street; the walk in front
of and adjacent to lots 839 859 87, 89, 91, 939 959 the north 1/2 of 97
and the south 1/2 of 99, on Fifth street in said city; the walk in front
of and adjacent to lots 811 notth 1/2 of 84, south 1/2 of 88, all of 901
month 1/2 of 92, south 1/2 106, north 1/2 of 115, north 1/2 of 121, all
of 157, 159, 161, 1680 165 and 167, on Santa Fe avenue in said city;
the walk in front of and adjacent to lot 98 on Seventh street in said
city; the walk in front of and adjacent'to lots 75, 76, 77'and 78 on
Ash street in said city; the walk on the west side of lot 13 on Iron
avenue,in nxlrdxar*ky Phillips' Second Addition to said city of Salina;
the walk on the west side of lots 1, 3 and 5, on Fifth street, in Ho -l -
land's addition to the city of Salina; the walk on the west side of -lot
7 and of .the south 1/2 of lot 5, do Eighth street, in Holldnd's addition
to said city of Salina; the walk adjacent toAthe west 100 feet, of lot

10 on Tenth street,,in Phillips' addition to the city of Salina; the walk
on the east side of lot 14, on Iron avenue, in Block 3, Oak Dale addition
to the city of Salina; the alk on the east side of lot 1, and in'front
of and adjacent to lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,,,6 and 79 on.Johnstown..avenue, in --
Block 3, Oak Dale addition to the city of Salina; the walk in front of
and adjacent to lot 7, on Gypsum avenue, in Block.6, Oak Dale addition,
in said city, and all the board walk in front of and adjacent. to the lots
or piece or pieces of ground described on the city map of said city as
Wm. Moulton, the same being a piece of ground about 150 feet in width
on the east side of Fifth street, just north of Center street, and be-
longing to C. L. Wight, Adolph Swanson and William H. Crisman, bye dA_
� Such walk is hereby condemned as worn out, worthless and unfit for repair,
and that said walk, and each and all of it, be removed, rebuilt and re-
u
constructed as provided for in this ordinance.
Sec. 2. That the owner or owners of each and -all of the lots
and parts of lots'and pieces of ground described in Section 1 of this
ordinance be, ,and they are hereby required, to remove the sidewalks con-
demned by Section 1 of this ordinance and'to rebuild and reconstruct t,h
same in the manner specified in this ordinance, on orbefore the
day of July, 1901..
Sec. 3. The sidewalk herein provided for shall be of even
grade throughout, to be determined by the city engineer, and shall be
constructed of the material and.width and in the manner specified in
Ordinance No. 1038 of the printed ordinances of the City of Salina, which
said Ordinance No. 1038 is hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance.
Sec. 4. The mmittee on Sidewalks,, shall, as &soon as practi-
cable after the qday of July, 1901s cause such sidewalk to be con-
structed in front of, along and adjacent to all and any of the premises
described in Section 1 of this ordinance, as described in such section 1,
whose owner or owners fail or refuse to remove and rebuild said walks as
required by this ordinance, and shall report its proveedings, together
with the length and dimensions of the walk so constructed and rebuilt,
and the actual expense thereof, to the City Council.
Sec. 5. The expense of removing and rebuilding said walks by
said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon
and colledted as other taxes against said real estate.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the "Salina Daily Republican -Journal."
