1071 Sidewalk ImprovementsL }1 ORDINANCE NO. _J ". I i S fc- An Ordinance providing for the condemnation, removal and construction of certain side lk in the City of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That each and all of the following described side -- walk and pieces and parts of sidewalks in said city of Salina, to -wit: The walk in front of and adjacent to Lots numbered 8 and 9, in Rzk Block 6,',Oak Dale addition; the walk in front of and adjaeent'to Lots numbered 4 and 5 and the west 1/2 of lot 3 on State street, west side of lot 113 on Iron avenue, lots 5, 7; 91 111-13, 15, 17 and 18, and the south sides of lots 19 and 20 and the west 100 feet on the south side of lot 10,.6n Eleventh street, and lots 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 329 34, 361 38,9 401 429 441 469 48, 509 52 and 54 on Twelfth (12) street, all in Phillips' Second addition to the City of Salina, Kansas; the walk in front of and adjacent.to lots numbered 1, 2, 31 41 59 6, on State street, lots 8, 9, 109 11, and 12 on Iron avenue, all in Derrington's addition to the city of Salina; the walk in front of and adjacent to lots numbered 1, 29 3, 4, 5'and 6, on'State street, in Sweeny's addition to the city of Salina; the walk in front -of a,r_d adjacent to lots numbered 189 20, 22, 249 26., 289 309 32, on State street, lots numbered 1, 21 31 49 5; 69-7, 80 91-109 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 169 179 18, 19 and 20 and the east side of 10, on Iron avenue, lots numbered 21, 23,,-251-27, 29 and 31 and east side of 21 and the! sottih,50 feet on the west side of lot 31, on. University 19lace, and lots 1, 29'31 41 5, 69 7, 8, 99 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, on Walnut street, all in University Addition of the city of Salina; the walk in front of and adjacent to lot numbered 78.on Seventh street; the walk in front of and adjacent to lots numbered 21 41 6, and 8 on we'st,side of Tenth street, in Markland's sub--divsion of Powers? addition to the city of Salina; the walk in front of and adjacent to that piece of ground described on the original plat of said city as J. R. Mitchell, and that pie©e of ground described on the original plat of said city as Crowley & Adams, both on Tenth street in said city; the wd lk in front of and adjacent to_t numbered 58, 60, 62 , 64 and 179 on`Eighth street* the walk in front of and adjacent to lots numbeed 1,: 3, 59 71 91 25, 279 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 419-43, 45, 47, 1109 112, 1149 1169 118, 1260 140 and 142, all on Fifth street in said city; the walk in front of and adjacent 1axyGyrlaid to the north side of lot numbered 170 on Fourth street in said city; the walk-in front of and on the south side of that piece of property known and described as Added Territory No. 1, and being the known as the property of property �et M. Magher; the walk in front of and on the south side of that piece of property known and described as Added Territory No. 17 A., and being the property known as the B. F. Peeler property; and the walk in front of and on the south side of that piece of property known and dese - ribed as Added Territory No. 19, and being known as the Christian Day property, and the walk in front of and adjacent to the south side of the property known as the T. D. Bond property, all of such four pieces of property last above described being located and situate on Vest Iron avenue in said city of Salina, be, and such walks are, hereby condemned as worn out, worthless and unfit for repair, and that saidwalks, and each of them, be removed and rebuilt and reconstructed as required by this'or.dinance. Sec. 2. That the owner or owners of each of the several lots, part's. -'of lots and property ahxxerxdescr,ibed and mentioned in section 1 of this ordinance be and they are hereby required to remove the sidewalks condemned by section 1 of this ordinance, and to rebuild and reconstruct suck -walks in the runner specified in .this ordinance, on or before the _day o f �, 1901. ,Sec. 5, he sidewalk herein provided for shall be of even grade throughout and shall be constructed of the material and in the manner and of the width or widths provided"for and-bpecified in Ordinance No. 1038 of the printed ordinances of the city of Salina, which said ordi- nance is hereby made a part of this ordinance. Sec. 4;'. The Committee on Sidewalks shall, as soon..as practicable, after the 4_1 . y of , 1901 cause such sidewalks to be constructed in front of, along and adjacent to all of the property and .premises described in'section 1 of this ordinance whose owners fail to. remove and rebuild said walks as required by this ordinance, and shall report its proceedings, together with the length of walk -so constructed and rebuilt along in front of each parcel of said premises and the actual expense thereof to the city council. Sec. 5. The actual expense ;of removing and rebuilding zocU such walks by said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon and collected as other taxes against said real estate. Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be inforce from and after is passage and publication once in the Salina Daily Republi- can -Journal. i Passed and approved -&4"1901. Mayor.' Attest:
