Ai\T ORDINANCE for the protect ion of the propert j, of.'thb Public Library
of the City of Salina,' Kansas., and' for.: the :puni�.shment 'of. persons vio-
lating the same.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of Salina:-
.
.ISection 1. Every person who shall steal, take and carry away from,
the Public*Library-any book, pamphlet, periodicals paper or other pro-

perty, or who shall take. from the ^Public Library any such book, pamphlet,
periodical, paper or other property in.any manner except in accordance
with the rules made by the Board of Directors of such Library,shall be.
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on convictior_. thereof shall be pun_,
ished by a fine in the sum of not less than l nor more than $50 for
each offense.
Section 2. ,every person who shall take, borrow or obtain from the irct,

Public Library any book, pamphlet, periodical, paper or other property
and nel,ct to return -the same within two weeks from the date of the
mailing by the Librarian to such persons address of a notice to return
the same, in accordance with the rules of the Library, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof., shall be punished
bya fine in the sum of not less than $1 nor more than $10 for each
offense.
Section 3. Every person who shall willfully cut, mutilate, mark,
tear, write• -upon- deface, or otherwise injure or destroy, in whole or
in part, any books„pamphlet-, periodical.,,map, document.,�.picture, or

or shall suffer any such injury to be inflicted while such property is
in his custody, or shall.willfully injure or deface any of the furniture
..of property in the rooms of the Library ,-,shall be .deemed .guilty of a
misdemeanor,' and upon conviction, theieof;�,:shall be. punished by'a fine
in the sum of not less than $l-nor..iiore than $100.:
