point an assistant marshalllfor said city who. shall take,.subscribe
and file with the city clerk the oath required by law,and the bond
re;juired by this or any other ordinance,such assistant marshall
shall hold his office for a term of one year next after the regular
.�elect.ion,and until his successor is duly qualified.
