ORDINANCE NO. 2161
An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalks
in the city of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salim.:
Section 1. That the owner.or owners of the following de-
scribed lots and tracts of land in the City of Salina, Kansas,
be'and they are hereby required to construct' -on or before the
23rd day of April, 1918, a sidewalk in front of or adjacent to
such lots hereinafter described as follows, to -wit:

"
All lots on west side of Fifth Street from Bond Street
to Republic Avenue, and on the north side of Republic
Avenue from Fifth Street to Santa Fe Avenue.
Sec. 2. khat all of the above mentioned sidewalks shall
be constructed of the material and in the width and manner
specified and required by the provisions of Ordinances No.
1038, 1971 and 1974 of the city of Salina, Kansas, which said
ordinances are hereby incorporated in and made a part of this
ordinance.
Sec. 3. The committee on sidewalks of the City Council
shall as soon as practicable after the 23rd day of April, 19181
cause any'sidewalsk herein mentioned to be constructed if the
owner or owners liable for such construction shall fail, neglect
or refuse to so construct the same within the time herein pro-
vided and shall report their proceedings together with the
length and dimensions so constricted by said committee together
with the actual expense thereof, to.the City Council.
Sec. 4. Expense of construction of said sidewalks by
said committee, in event they construct the same, shall be
assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to
front foot thereof and collected as other taxes against said
real estate are collected.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once in the official city
paper.
