to pay the cost of excavating,.curbing, guttering, grading
and paving Tenth Street, from the south line of Prescott
Avenue to the north line of Crawford Avenue in said City
and relating to the providing for the collection of such
assessments.
Be it ordained by the mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 10 That for the purpose of paying the costs of
curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving Tenth Streetin
the City of Salina, Kansas, from the south line of Prescott Aven-
ue to the north nine of Crawford Avenue, as described in Ordinance
No. 2064, that there is hereby levied and assessed against the
property liable therefor, the same being the property abutting on
such street on either side thereof, according to the appraised
value thereof, for the purpose of such improvements without regard
to the buildings or improvements thereon, such special assessments
being based on the valuation on such lots and pieces of ground
herebefore made by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the
Mayor and Council for the purpose of making such appraisement,
which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance. The several amounts levied and assessed a g inst the
lots and pieces of ground aforesaid for the purpose aforesaid, are
hereby found and determined to be as follows:

Sec. 2. Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due
and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance.
The City Clerk of the City of Salina shall certify to the County
Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the same
time as other taxes are certified for the year 1918, all of the
above special assessments which have not been paid within thirty
days after the publication of this ordinance, together with inter-
est on such amounts in the sum of 41 per cent per annum and such
amounts so certified shall be placed on the tax roll and collect-
ed as other taxes are collected.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its publication once .in the official City
paper.

An -ordinance levying arid: assessing special assessments on certain
lots and pieces of ground in the City o--" Salina, K'ansas, to pay
the cost of excavating, curbing, guttering, grading arid. paving
Tenth Street, from the south line of -Prescott Avenue to the north
line of Crpvwford Avenue in said City, and relating to and provid-
ing for the collection of such assessments.
Be it ordained by the EIayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
