Be it ordained by the mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 10 That for the purpose of paying the costs of curbing, guttering, excavating, grading and paving Tenth Streetin the City of Salina, Kansas, from the south line of Prescott Aven- ue to the north nine of Crawford Avenue, as described in Ordinance No. 2064, that there is hereby levied and assessed against the property liable therefor, the same being the property abutting on such street on either side thereof, according to the appraised value thereof, for the purpose of such improvements without regard to the buildings or improvements thereon, such special assessments being based on the valuation on such lots and pieces of ground herebefore made by three disinterested appraisers appointed by the Mayor and Council for the purpose of making such appraisement, which appraisement is hereby referred to and made a part of this ordinance. Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance. The City Clerk of the City of Salina shall certify to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, in the same manner and at the same time as other taxes are certified for the year 1918, all of the above special assessments which have not been paid within thirty days after the publication of this ordinance, together with inter- est on such amounts in the sum of 41 per cent per annum and such amounts so certified shall be placed on the tax roll and collect- ed as other taxes are collected.
