1880 Call Election to Issue Bonds9: ORD INANCE NO.- 1880 An ordinance submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Salina, Kansas, the proposition to authorize' the City Council to pur- chase certain tracts of land and lots in said City of Salina, for parks, and to issue bonds of the said City in payment therefor, not exceeding in amount the -sum of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars, and calling an election therefor. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Sect ion. l . That a Special Election be, and the same is hereby called to be held in the, City of Salina, Kansas, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of .November, 1915, for. the purpose of submitting to the electors of said City of Salina, the following questionor proposition,J'to-wit: "Shall the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina, Kansas, be authorized to purchase for the purpose of establishing and maintain- ing thereon,- Public Parks for the benefit and use of the people of said City the following tracts of land and lots, in the city of Salina, Kan- - (a) Lots Two (2) "to SiAt een (16) inclusive,' on Twelfth Street, ._in Weaver's Second Addition., in the city of . Salina, Kansas. `- (b). Block four (4) in Morrison's Third Addition, to the city of -Salina -Kansas, # , (c) Lots Fourteen (14) to Twenty-three -(23) inclusive, in Block One (1). Santa Fe Park Addition., to the ' city of Salina, Kansas. (d) All that part of the Original".Torn Site of the city of Sa- lina, Kansas, lying west 'of .Third Street and east of the Smoky Hill River, on both sides of Iron Avenue in.. said,City of Salina, (e) -That tract of land marked "A" on : Surveyor's Plat "G" , of said City of Salina, containing about one acre, and to issue a in payment therefor bonds of said -City in the sum ori amount not exceeding Fofty Thousand x($40, 000.00) Dollars ." Sec. 2. Said bonds proposed to be issued_ shall be of the denomin- ation of Five Hundred ($500.00.) Dollars each,,they,-shall be made pay- able in ten (10) years from the date . of their 'issue,, "phall bear interest at the rate of five . per. cent '(5f) .per annum.. -payable semi=annually, for which interest coupons shall be attached, and shall be registered ac- c- cording cording to law. The manner of voting at such Special Elect ion. shall be by ballot, and the ballots used shall be in substantially the fol- lowing form: "To vote in favor of any question submitted upon this ballot, make a cross mark (X) mark in the square after the word "YES" - to vote against it, make a similar mark in the square after the word 'ANO."_ SHALL THE FOLLOWING BE ADOPTED? The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of such Special Election by proclamation.. stating therein the lands and lots proposed to be purchased,. and the amount of the bonds proposed. to be issued, the purpose of the issue and. the polling places at which such Special Election will be held. Such proclamation shall be signed by the Mayor and City Clerk, and shall be published in the official city paper for six V consecutive days, the last publication of which shall be made at least fifteen (15) days prior to the date of said election.
