1874 Prostitution336 ORDINANCE NO. 1874 (Published in the Salina Evening Journal August 1915.) An ordinance defining certain misdemeanors and providing for the pun- ishment of the same, and amending and repealing Sections Nine (9) and Ten (10) of Ordinance No. 635 of the city of Salina, Kan- sas.- He it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That Section Nine (9) of Ordinance No. 635 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to -wit: - "'Section o -wit: - "'Section 9. That any person whorshall reside in or be an inmate of any house or building in the City . of Salina for the purpose of pros- titution or illicit sexual intercourse, shall upon conviction therefore be fined in any sum not less than ten nor more than One Hundred."Zollars." Sec. 2. That Section Ten (10) of Ordinance No. 635 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to -wit: "Section 10. That any person, either male or female who shall reside in or be an inmate of . any house of prostitution, house of ill fame, house of assignation,' brothal, bandy -house, or house of like zhaar- acber in said city, and any person.who shall visit any such house for the purpose of prostitution, or illicit sexual intercourse, shall upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum not less than ten nor more than One Hundred Dollars; provided that if any person shall -be found visit- ing isit- ing any house of prost itut ion, 1,11 -fame, brothel, house of assignation.,_ baudy-house, or houses of like character, it shall be prima-facie evi- dence of having visited it for said purposes, but said person may ex- culpate himself or herself by reasonable proof." Sec. 3. Said original sections Nine (9) and Ten (10) of Ordin- ance No. 635 are hereby repealed. Sec. 4.
