1857 Abandom Water MainORDINANCE NO. 1857_. (Published in the Salina Evening Journal June 1915.) An ordinance providing for the abandonment of a portion of a cer- tain main and for the extension of a certain water main in lieu there- of, and the installation of a fire hydrant thereon in the City of Sa- lina, by The Salina Water Works Company. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That The Salina Water Works Company 'be and it is here- by authorized to out off and abandon that portion of its six inch wat- er main extended pursuant to an order of the City of Salina, dated Sep- tember 9th, 1910, as follows: Commencing at the intersection of Thir- teenth street and Bishop Street in said city, thence north, to a point in said Thirteenth Street 195 feet north of the north line of the new Union Stat ioh building in said city. See. 2. That The Salina Water Works Company be and it is hereby authorized to extend a six inch water main from a point on its present water main on Thirteenth- Street in said city 195 feet north of the nort=h line of the new Union Station building in a straight line south- easterly through a point 17 feet due east of the sputheast corner of said building to the center of Bishop street in said city and there connect with the Bishop Street water main. Sec. 3. That The Salina Water Works Company be and it is hereby authorized, from the hydrants upon which the city is now paying rental but which remain unlocated by said city, to install upon said water main mentioned in Section Two of this ordinance a fire hydrant upon the east line of said Thirteenth street, at the direction of the Chief of the Fire Department of said city. Sec. 4. That all cost and rxpense of the change and extension of said water main be paid by The Union Pacific Railroad Company (act- ing for itself and for The Missouri Pacific Railroad Gompany, The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Company and The Atchison, To - pekes and Santa Fe Railway Company) constructing said new Union Station; and that the change and extension of said six inch water main and the installation of said fire hydrant shall be made without expense to the City of Salina; and said city shall not in the future pay an in- creased hydrant rental thereon but shall continue to pay hydrant rental on account thereof to the extent of the number of feet of the main mentioned in Section One of this ordinance, as provided by Ordinance No. 372 of the City of. That -.The Salina Water Works Company be and it is hereby authorized to out off and abandon that portion of its six inch water main extended pursuant to an.order of the City of Salina, dated September 9, 1910, as follows: Commencing at the intersection of Thirteenth street and Bishop Street in'aaid city, thence north to a point in said Thirteenth Street 1.95 feet north of the north line of the new Union Station building in said city. Section 2. That The Salina Water Works Company be and it _ _ .. . _ _ . ... _ . _ is hereby authorized to extend a six inch water main° from a point on its present water main on Thirteenth Street in said city 195 feet north of the north line of the new Union Station building in a straight-line southeasterly through a point 17 feet due east of the southeast corner of said building to the center of Bishop street in said city and there connect with the Bishjbp Street water main. Section 3 That The SalinaWater Works Company be and it is herby authorized, from the hydrant supon which the city is now paying rental but which remain-'_unlocated by said city$. to install upon said, water main mentioned in Section 2 of this ordinance a firs hydrant upon the east line of said Thirteenth street , at the direction of the Chief of the Fire Department of said city. -2 - Section 4. That all cost and expense of the change and extension of said water main be paid by The Union Pacific Railroad Company(acting for itself and for The Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway Company and The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Re Railway Company)conetruct- ing said new Union Station; and that the change and.extension of said six inch water main and the installation of said fire hydrant shall be made without expense to the City of Salina; and said city .shall not in the future pay an increased hydrant rental thereon but shall continue to pay hydrant rental on account thereof to the extent. of the number of feet of the main. mentioned in Section 1 of this ordimnee, as provided by ordinance 372 of the City of Salina. -Section 5• This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in The Salina Evening Journal.
