1850 Salaries1TPAY 1 1 1 1 1 ORDINANCE -NO, 1850(Published in the Salina EvP_n i n a Jan, ,a, 197 5 ) An ordinance providing for the salary of the Police Judge, and relating to fines and costs in the Police Court, and repealing Ord- inance No. 1097. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the salary of the Police Judge of the Cityof Salina, Kansas, shall be the sum of Seven Hundred Twenty Dollars, 0720.00) per annum, payable monthly, which shall be in full consider.- ation for all of his services, such salary to be paid out of the General.Fund of said City, as other claims are payable. Sec. 2. That the Police Judge, shall tax as costs in all cases in the Police Court, in which there shall be a conviction., the sum of Three Dollars, ($3.00) as fees for the services of the Police Judge, and the sum of Three Dollars, ($3.00) as fees for the services of the City Attorney; Provided, however, that all fees collected as .above, shall be turned into the General Fund of said City, by the Police Judge, at the end of each month, together with sworn statement as to the business and receipts of his office. Sec. 3. In the event of a Justice of the Peace being called to act as Police Judge, the compensation of such Justice of the Peace shall be deducted from the salary of the Police Judge --but shall not exceed the salary of the Police Judge for such period. Sec. 4. That Ordinance No. 1097, passed and approved September 160 1901, being an ordinance entitled, "An ordinance providing for the salary of the Police Judge, and relating to fines and costs in the Po- lice Court,, -and repealing Ordinance No-, 909% be and the same is here- by repealed. Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed, June 7th, 1915. Approved, Attest-: City Clerk. Mayor. BATEMAN 'T'0 THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAMNA: Regarding Ordinance No. k 04 -?I being "An Ordinance Providing for the Fees of the Police Judge," passed June 7, 19150 I will say, that in my opinion s in consideration of the .importance of the office, together with the amount of work required of the Police Judge in the City of Salina, the compensation as allowed, is insufficient for the duties performed. Therefore, I feel that it is my duty,, as Mayor, to veto same. Mayor. (Published in the Salina Evening Journal , 1915.) ORDINANCE N0. 1850.
