1836 Sidewalk Improvements Seventh Street25G ORDINANCE NO. 1836. -- (Published in the Salina Evening Journal Mav 1915.1 An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate abutting on the east and west side of Seventh Street, from Pacific to Harsh street; also on the north side of Pacific from Seventh to Santa Fe Avenue, in the city of Salina, Kansas, are hereby required to con- struct or cause to be constructed on or beofore the 7th day of June, 1915, a sidewalk in front of and adjacent to all the lots or parts of lots above described, said sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width and in the manner specified and required by the provisions:of Ord - finance No. 1038, of the printed ordinances of the city of Salina, which said Ordinance No. 1038 is hereby incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance. Sec. 2. That the committee on sidewalks of the city council shall, as soon as practicable after the said 7th day of June, 1915, cause such sidewalk as described in Section One hereof to be constructed as herein provided where such owner or owners fail, neglect or refuse to build the same, as provided herein, and shall report their proceedings, to- gether with the length and dimensions.of the walk so constructed by said committee and the actual expense thereof to the city council. Sec. 3. The expense of constructing said walk by said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the front thereof, and collected as other taxes against such real estate. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed and approved, May, 3rd, 1915. (SEAL) J. E. Putnam. Attest: Mayor.
