An ordinance providing,f or the construction of a foot bridge
over the Smoky Hill River on Iron Avenue, and letting a contract there-
for.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That it is necessary and hereby ordered that a foot
bridge be constructed over the Smoky Hill River on Iron Avenue in the
city of Salina, according to the specifications therefor by the city
engineer and on file in his office.
Sec. 2. That such foot bridge shall be of cable construction and
of the dimensions and character as described.in such specifications a-
foresaid.
Sec. 3. That a contract be and is hereby let to Concrete Construct -
ion Company, of Kansas City, Missouri, for the construction of such
bridge at and for the sum of $250.00, said price to cover and include
the furnishing And supplying .of all necessary material and labor used in
and necessary for the complete construction of such bridge according to
such specifications; said price hereby agreed to be paid for such bridge
being less than the estimated cost.of the same as made by the city engin-
eer and now on file with the city clerk. it is also provided herein
that the price thus aggre-od to be paid for the construction of said
foot bridge shall include the work of tearing down and removing such
bridge after the construction of the concrete bridge now under construct-
ion over said river on said street; provided that such bridge shall be
located at such a point as said contractor may select,.provided that
said city shall not be liable for any expense for the use of ground on
which any part of such bridge may be erected.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
abd after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
