1809 Improve Walnut StreetORDINANCE NO. 1809. (Published in the Salina Eveniniz Journal DeeembAr ice-_ 1A1d_1 An ordinance providing for the building of a stone abuttment on the east bank of the Smoky Hill River on Walnut street under the east approach of the bridge spanning -such river on.said street, and letting the contract therefor. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That it is necessary and' hereby ordered that a' stone- a- buttment be built and constructed on the east bank of the Smoky Hill River on Walnut street under the east approach of the bridge crossing said riv- er on said street-, the same to be built at such point and in such manner as described and defined by the specifications of the city engineer there- for, which are hereby approved and adopted as the specifications there- for. Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to E. N. Tuttle and C. T. Snyder for the building and construction of ,suoh abuttment in accord- ance with such specifications therefor at and for the sum .of Two Hundred Ninety Dollars, (290.00), Which shall be in full compensation therefor, and which sum is hereby found to be less than the estimated cost of such work as made and prepared by said City engineer which said estimated cost is now on file with the city clerk; and the stone material to be used in the building and construction of such work shall be furnished and supplied by the city; and said contractor shall furnish and supply all labor and other material necesssry to build and construct such improvement according to said specifications therefor. Sec. 3. Said persons to whom said contract is hereby awarded shall give a satisfactory bond to the said city, conditioned, that they will per- form said contract according to said specifications and in compliance with the directions of the city engineer which may be given from time to time, and payments for said work shall be made at such times and manner as set forth in said specifications aforesaid, which said specifications are here- by made a part of this c©ntract,hereby awarded and of this ordinance. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and .be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening, Journal. Passed and approved December 7th, 1914. (SEAL) V.
