An ordinance providing for the building, of a stone abuttment on
the east bank of the Smoky Hill river on Ash street under the east ap-
proach of the -bridge spanning such river on said street, and letting
the contract therefor.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That it is necessary and hereby ordered that a stone
abtrttment, be built and constructed on the east bank of the Smoky Hill
River on Ash street under the east approach of the bridge crossing said
river on said street, the same to be built at such point and in such man-
ner as described and defined by the specifications of the City Engineer
therefor, which are hereby approved and adopted as .the specifications
therefor.
Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to E. *N."Tuttle and
C. T. Snyder for the building and construction of such abuttment in ac-
cordanee with such specifications therefor at and for the 'sum of Three
Hundred Sixty and No./100 Dollars,($360.00), which shall be in full -com-
pensation therefor, and which sum is hereby found to be less than the
estimated cost of such work'as made and prepared by said City Engineer
which said estimated cost is now on file with the City Clerk; and the
stone material to be used in the building,and construction of such work
shall be furnished and supplied by the City;, and said contractor shall
furnish and supply all labor and other material necessary to build and
construct such improvement according to said spedifications therefor.
Sec. 3. Said persons to whom said contract is hereby awarded shall
give a satisfactory bond to the said city conditioned that they will per-
form said contract accordingiAo said specifications and in compliance
with the -directions of the City` Engineer which may be given from time
to time, and payments for said work shall be made at such times and man-
ner as set forth in said specifications aforesaid, which said specifi-
cations are hereby made a part of this contract hereby awarded and of
this ordinance.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
