1796 Alley Improvement (4th & 5th)PAY OKDINANCE NO. 1796 An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used and letting the contract for the paving of the alley between Fourth and Fifth Streets, from Iron avenue to Walnut street, in the city of Salina Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. It is hereby determined that the alley between Fourth and Fifth streets, from Iron avenue to Walnut street., in the city of Salina, shall be paved with six (6) inch concrete paving material, as specified in the specifications of the city engineer of said city now on file with the city clerk, and which specifications are hereby adop- ed and approved as and for the specifications for the paving of said alley between the limits aforesaid. Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to Watts and Amer- man for the paving of the alley described in this ordinance, at and for the uniform price of one and 25/100 Dollars ($1.25) per square yd. for the square yards of such paving actually laid in said alley, and at the price of fifty-four cents (541) per cubic yard for all excavat- ing; including all labor and material necessary for the proper comple- tion of such work and improvement, upon measurement to be made by the said city engineer, and it is hereby found and determined that the pri- ces hereby agreed to be paid for such work and improvement are less than the estimated cost of the same as heretofore made and estimated by the City Engineer of said city and which estimate is now on file with the City Clerk. Sec. 3, The contract hereby awarded is upon the express con- dition that the work herein provided for shall be done in compliance with the City Engineer's said specifications therefor and the directiors of the said Engineer from time to time. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed and approved October 19th, 1914. V. E. Niquette, (SEAL) Mayor.
