1795 Award Ash Street Sidewalk Repair-- ORDINANCE NO. 1795, - (Published in the Salina Journal October -,D.,l 1914) An ordinance letting the contract for the construction of certain sidewalk in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That a contract be and is hereby let to Z. T. Hemingdr for the re-laying and re -construction of the sidewalk on Ash street, in the city of Salina.. Kansas, between the east end of the bridge crossing the Smoky Hill River on said Ash street and Oakdale avenue, at and for the price and sum specified in the bid or - proposal of the said Z. T. Heminger, filed with the city clerk on the date of this ordinance, and which bid or proposal is hereby made a part of this ordinance in all re- spects as if the same were written out in full herein. And it is here- by found and determined that the sum hereby agreed to be paid to the said Z. T. Heminger for the work herein described is less than the esti- mated cost of the building and construction of such sidewalk herein de- scribed made by the city engineer of the city of Salina and now on file with the City Clerk. Sec. 2. That such sidewalk shall be re-laid and re -constructed in compliance with the provisions of Ordinance -No. 1793 of the. city of Sa- lina, and in accordance with the specifications and directions of the City Engineer therefor. Sec.'3. The person to whom the contract herein proviede for shall be let shall furnish the city a good and sufficient bond that he will re-lay and re -construct such sidewalk according to the provisions of said Ordinance No. 1793 and the directions and specifications of said i City Engineer and that the same when re-laid will be so re -constructed. in such manner that the same will endure and be free from settlements and remain upon grade for at least one year after the construction of the Same; and that he will save and hold harmless the city of Salina from all claims or demands for labor performed or material furnished in the construction and building of such walk. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication onee in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed and approved October 19th, 1914. (SEAL) Attest: V. E. Niouette.
