1786 Levy General Revenue Taxl PAY Y - 143 - -- - - _ ORDINANCE_ NO,. 1786 - - - (Published in the Salina Evening Journal Aug.2/12 1914) 1 1** 1 1 An ordinance making a levy of taxes for general revenue and other purposes in the city of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1914. Be it -ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: \ Section 1. That the sum of five and twenty-five hundredths (.005.2$ mills on the dollar be and the same is hereby levied on all real, mixed, and personal property in the city of Salina, Kansas,.for the year 1914s for the following purposes-, and apportioned and divided as follows, viz: For general revenue, two mills (.002)'on'the dollar. For improving and bringing to grade streets, avenues and alleys, and for building footwalks across streets, and culverts, one mill on the (.001) dollar. For a sinking fund, three -tenths of,a mill (.0003) on the dollar. For paying interest on outstanding bonds, three -tenths of a mill (.0003) on the dollar. ' For the support of a free public library, two-tenths of a mill (.0002) on the dollar. For paying the annual installments of and interest on bonds issued during the years 1906, 1907, 19092 1910, 19110 1912 and 1913 to pay for the paving and improving of the squares and areas of streets, eighty-five one -hundredths (.00085) mills on the dollar. For a light and water fund, two-tenths of a mill (.0002) on the dollar. For acquiring land for widening, extAnding and opening streets, avenues and alleys, three -tenths of a mill (.0003) on the dollar. For park contingent fund, one-tenth of a mill (.0001) on the doll tv Sec. 2. That one and two-tenths (.001.2) mills on the dollar be and the same is hereby levied on all real estate in the city of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1914, for the purpose of paying the annual install- ments of and interest on outstanding sewer bonds issued on the dates of. January 2, 1905, January 1, 1907, July 1,1908, January 1, 1909, March 1, 1910s July 1,, 1909, September 1, 1911, April 1, 1913 and June 1, 1914. Sec. 3. The valuation of the property upon which the foregoing taxas are levied and assessed, is in all cases taken from the assessment rolls -of the present year in the county clerk's office of Saline ,county, Kansas.; and it shall be the duty of the city clerk, immediately upon the passage and publication of this ordinance, to transmit a duly certi- fied copy of the same to the county clerk of Saline county, Kansas, to be placed upon the tax roll to be collected according to law. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed -and approved August 17th, 1914. V. E. Niauette. Mayor.
