EREAS, the present sidewalk running along the south -side of Ash

ed along the sf Ash street, between the east end of the bridge

Sec 2. That the owner or owns of all the lots and pieces Of ground

tion of this ordinance cause the sidewalk described in this ordinance to
be constructed, as herein provided, where the owner or owners pf the a-
butting property fail, neglect or erfuse to build such sidewalk as herein
provided, and shall report their proceedings, togehher with the nd and
dimensions of said walk and the cost thereof to the city council, aid the
cost of such walk so constructed by said committee shall be assessed
gainst the real estate abutting thereon according to the front foot th6ce-

An ordinance providi�g' fobthe construction of 'certain sidewalk in the
city of Salina, Kansas.

Whereas, the present sidewalk running along the south of Ash
street.between the east side of the bridge crossing the Smoky Hill river
on said Ash street and Oakdale avenue, when laid, was laid so as to
encroach upon the road and driveway on said Ash street, and is below the
proper Prade of such street; therefore,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:

Section 'l. That a sidewalk be and is here by order to be con-
structed along the south line of said Ash street, between the Jaxgdgox
east end of the bridge crossing the Smoky Hill river on said Ash street
to Oakdale avenue, in the city of Salina.; said videwalk to be five (5)
feet in width and the outer edge thereof to be six (6) feet from the
lot lines of the lots fronting on said Ash street;.and be constructed
of brick, cement oro+her incombustible material such as described in
Ordinance No. 1038 of the printed ordinances of the city of Salina, as
the respective property owners building such walk, as hereinafter pro-
vided, may select; Provided, however, that if the city shall construct
such sidewalk, as in this ordinance provided, then the mayor and council
may determine and.shsll determine the'kind of xi&sx&kk material out of
which such sidewalk shall be constructed.
Sec. 2. That the owner or owners of all the lots and pieces of
