1775 Sidewalk Improvements Sweeney's Addition120 ORDINANCE_ NO. 1775.. Published in the Salina Evening Journal Jul An ordinance providing for the construction.of .certain sidewalk in the City of Salina, Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and -Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate a- butting on the west side of Lots numbered seven (7) and twenty (20), in Sweeney's Addition, to and in the city of Salina, Kansas, are hereby re- quired to construct or cause to be constructed on or before the 6th day of August 1914, a sidewalk adjacent to all the lots or parts of lots a- bove described, said sidewalk to be constructed to cement and of the width specified and required by the provisions of Ordinance No. 1038, of the printed ordinances of the city of Salina, which said Ordinance No. 1038 is hereby incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance. Sec. 2. That the committee on sidewalks of the city council shall, as soon as practicable after the said 6th day of August 1914, cause such sidewalk as described in Section One (1) hereof to be constructed as here- in provided where such owner of owners fail, neglect or refuse to build the same, as provided herein, and shall report their proceedings, together with the length and dimensions of the walk so.constructed by said com- mittee and the actual expense thereof to the city council. Sec. 3. The expense of constructing said walk by said committee` shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the front thereof, and collected as other taxes against such real estate. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once -in the Salina, Evening Journal. Passed and approved July 6, 1914. V. E. Niquette,� Mayor.
