ORDINANCE _NO. 1770. - -

An ordinance fixing the salaries of the marshal, assistant mar-
shal and policemen of the city of Salina; prescribing their hours of
service and repealing Ordinances numbered 1461 and 1670.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1.- It shall be the duty of the city marshal to patrol the
streets and be and remain on duty form twelve o'clock noon to twelve o'
clock midnight; and the assistant marshal shall be on duty and patrol
the.streets from twelve o'clock midnight to twelve o'clock noon; provid-
ed that this sect ion ,shall not preclude said officers from performing the
duties now or -hereafter prescribed by law or ordinance.
Sec. 2. Said marshal shall received as pay the sum of eighty-five
dollars (85.00) per month, payable at the end of each month, which shall
-be in full compensation for -all of his services.
See. 3. The duties, powers and privileges of the assistant city
marshal.shall be the same as are now or shall hereafter be prescribed
for the.city marshal, except as to the time he shall be on duty; and such
assistant city marshal shall receive the sum of seventy-five dollars
($75.00) per month, payable at the end of.each month, which sum shall be
in full compensation for all of his services.
Sec. 4. Each regular policeman of the city of Salina shall receive
for his services the sum of sixty-five dollars (65.00) per month, pay-
able monthly at the end of each.month, which shall be in,full compensation

for all services; and each^policeman shall receive as pay for his ser-
vices the sum of two dollars ($2.00) per day in full compensation for
all of his services.
Sec. 5.- That Ordinance No. 1461, passed and.approv'ed`December 21,
1908, and Ordinance.No. 1670.,passed and approved July 15, 1912, be and
each of them -are hereby.repealed.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
