1759 Dogs Running At Large:. t7-tryt FAT df of ORDINANCE NO. 1759_. Published in the Salina Evening Journal May 1914 An Ordinance amending Section Two (2) of Ordinance No. 1028, passed and approved April 30, 1900, and repealing such section two (2) so a- mended: Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That section Two (2) of Ordinance No. 1028, passed and approved April 30, 1900, and being an ordinance entdtled "An ordinance providing for the registration of dogs in the city of Salina and fixing fees therefor, and to prevent the running at large of all dogs not reg- istered and muzzled," be amended so as to reas as follows, viz: "Sec. 2. The owner, keeper'or harbored of any dog in the city of Salina shall cause his name, with the name and description of the dog, to be registered with the City Clerk, in a book to be kept for that pur- pose, and shall pay each year to the city clerk, before such dog is reg- istered, a registration fee of two dollars ($2.00) for each male dog, and spayed female dog, and five dollars ($5.00) for each female dog, and shall keep on the neck of each dog so registered a metallic or leath- er collar to which shall be fastened a metallic check or tag (to be fur- nished by the city clerk) with the name and year of registry distinctly mar thereon. The city clerk shall keep a suitable book for the registration of dogs and upon payment to him of the fee aforesaid shall register the dogs upon which such fee is paid. No person or persons owning, possess- ing, keeping or harboring any dog, bitch or whelp in this city -shall per- mit the same to run at large within the limits of said city, between the first day of July and the first day of September of each year, unless such dog be securely muzzled so as to render the biting of person im- possible." Sec. 2. That original section Two (2) of ordinance No. 1028, be and the same is hereby repealed. Sec. 3.
