1703 Appropriations(Published in -the Salina Evening Journal March ORDINANCE NU . An ordinance nrovidi for the condemnation and appropriation of certain real estate in Ll7e .city of Salina, .Kansas, for the purpose or .riving the riort of wa to railwaycompanies into and from and for site for a union station; providing for the appointment of and appoint- ing householders of said city to determine by assessment adequate compensation to the person or persons whose propert shall be taken for such purpose,' and. prescribing the fifties of suc householders as such appraisers, 0 O Whereas, it is necessary, .for the purpose of providing rights of way for some of the railway companies into, through and out of, and a cite for, the union station to be built in the city of Salina, Kansas, that certain real estate in said city be taken and acquired by said city for such purposes; therefore, Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. It is hereby decalred necessary to condemn and appro- priate, for the purposes herein contemplated, the following described real estate located and situate in the city of Salina, Kansas, to -wit: eat The south twenty-eight, (28)/f'Flocks numbered Seven (7), Fight (8), Twelve (12) and Thirteen (13), Depot addition in and to the city of Saline,, Kansas, and a strip of ground in said. city, not, exceeding; fifty (50) feat in width, adjoining on the north and west the present right of way of the Missouri Pacific Railway company between the west line of Phillips street and a point about 200 feet south of the south line of Park street.; and such other real estate as the mayor and council may hereaf ter designate. Sec. 2. For the purpose of ascertaining and determining the damages sustained by the owner or .owners of the property so to be taken for the purposes af.or6said, the following named disinterested householders of the city of Saline., Kansas, are hereby appointed and confirmed as appraisers to determine, by assessment, adequate compensation to such owner or owners for such property so to be taken., to -wit: James A,. Kim- ball, W. W. Watson, F. D. Shellabarger, Chas. L. Schwartz and D. J. Hanna. Sec. 3. Such householders shall, within ten (10) days after being notified of their app6intment, qualify as such appraisers, in the manner provided by law, and shall act under oath faithfully and impartially to make the assessment or assessments to them submitted, and shall report to the mayor and council their proceedings in all matters as provided by law;.and, upon completion of. their report, file the same with the city clerk. Said householders shall meet at the place where such right of way is to be laid out and created, and personally inspect and view the premises, and shall appoint one of their number who shall give each -one of the owners, or their agents if non-residents of the city, of the lands or lots, wholly or partially taken or injured, ten (10) days written notice of the time and place at which said householders shall thereafter meet to assess and deteniine such damages, at which time said onner, or any of them; may be present and be heard. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed and approved.March 17, 1913. Attest: __.Y.�._._____ --'—Mayo
