An Ordinance. amending Section, One (1)-af Ordinance No.*169�j, passed
and appioved.November 1$th019121 and being entitled "An Ordinance
authorizing the' Fireman's Relief Association 'of the city of'
Salina to pay certain moneys out of the Firemen's Relief Fund",
and repealing such Section One (1) so amended.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of -the city of Salina:
Section 1. That the Firemen's Relief. Association is hereby
authorized to. pay out of the Firemen's Relief Fund ef, said city to
Mrs. Mamie Brodbeck, widow of Fred Brodbeck, the former chief of the
Salina Fire Department, who met death through injuries .sustained by
him in the discharge of his duties as a fireman of said city, as a
gratuity to said widow, a sum of money not in excess of Three
Thousand ($3000..00) Dollars;"said gratuity to be paid to said widow
by said Firemen's Relief Association in payments of
Dollars per month, the firsayment.7 of which. to be made on the First
day of January91913, in the sum of �"`' Dollars and
subsequent payments thereunder to be made at the rate of
Dollars per month on the first day of each succeeding month after
January,,1913, until the whole amount of such . �p atutty is paid;
Provided, however, that if the said Mamie Brodbeck shall marry
before the payment to her of the whole amount.of such gratuity as
above specified, then all further payment under this ordinance shall
cease and determine after the date of her said marriage, and, in
such event, the amount of the gratuity hereby authorized to be paid
to said widow hereunder shall be the amount or amounts so paid to
her up and until the date of her said marriage.
Sec. 2. Section One (1) of Ordinance No.1693 is hereby
repealed.
Seco 3. This ordinance shall take'effect and be in force
from and. after its passage and a copy of the same shall be certified
by the clerk to the'said Firem4n's Relief Association.
