ORDINANCE m. 1691
An Ordinance providing for the repairing and re-laying of certain
sidewalks in the city of Saline.., Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor. and Councilmen of the city of Salina:
Section 1.• That the sidewalks in
front of and adjacent to the
following described real estate in the
city of Salina;, Kansa's., to -wit:
.Lots 174 and 176 on Eighth street.
Lots 170-171-172 and 173 on.Mulberry
street.
Lot 47 on Santa Fe avenue and lot 48
or. Fifth street.
Lot 49 on Eighth street.

be and the same are hereby condemned as unsafe and unfit for`public
use and travel and that such sidewalks shall be rebuilt., reconstructd
and relayed, by bringing the same to grade, by the ,,)w er of the
property abutting such sidewalk, on or 'before the 2nd day of December
1912, as in this ordinance provided.
Sec, 2. That the.city engineer is hereby directed to furnish
the grade to which all of the foregoing described sidewalks shall be
raised ukon request of the owner or owners of the property on which
such.sidewalk abuts, and all of such sidewalks shall, on or before
the end day of December, 1912 e- ' Pe*aJrr And re -constructs -

Sees 3, The committee on sidewalks ofthe city council shall,
as soon as practicable, after the 2nd day of December, 1912, cause
all. such sidewalk hereinbefore described to be repaired and relaid w
in this ordinance provided where the owner or owners of the same
,fail or refuse to repair the same, and shall report their proceedings
together with the length and dimensions of said. walk so repaired andt
the cost of the same to the city council,
Sec. .4. The expense of r4 -
pairing said walk by said. city shall
be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the
front foot.thereof, and certified and collected as other taxes
against said real estate.
Sec.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and. after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal..
