1687 Sewer Construction(Published in the Salina Evening Journalp--- 1912. ) ORDINANCE NO. /G An Ordinance letting the contract for the construction of certain sewers in the city of Salina, Kansas. Wf-. EAS, under the provisions of Ordinance No.1686, the mayor and council decided to build and construct certain sewers in the city of Salina, in said ordinance described; and,. WHEREAS, proposals and bids for the building and construction of such sewers have been filed with the city clerk, and such bids and proposals have been examined by the said mayor and council and the proposal and bid of is hereby found and determined to be the lowest and mmst responsible bid for the building and construction of such sewers under such bid and proposal of said � �-- � does not exceed the estimate of the costofsuch construction as heretofore made by the city engineer -of said city and now on file with the city cleric; therefore, Beit ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: /In - Section 1. ''that a contract be and is hereby let to � l� of for the following described sewers and drains: An eighteen (18) inch sewer commencing at the present sewer on the east side of Santa Fe avenue on Crawford avenue, thence east on Crawford avenue to Second street, thence north on Second street to Prescott avenue, thence east on Prescott avenue to the Smoky Hill River, the approximate length of such sewer being 2530 feet. A twelve (12) inch sanitary sewer commencing at the present manhole at the corner of Eighth and forth streets, thence north on Eighth street to Lincoln street, west on Lincoln street to Ninth street and north on Ninth street to Grand avenue, the approximate length of such sewer being 1625 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer on Highland avenue, commencing at the present manhole at the corner of Highland 'avenue and Crawford avenue, thence south on Highlndd avenue to a point halfway between Bond and Wilson streets, the approximate length of such sewer being 1280 feet. Sewer ten (10) inch on Highland avenue commencing at the present manhole at Filson street and Highland avenue, thence north on Highlard o venue to connect with the manhole to be built for sewer NO -3; the approximate length of such sewer being. 490 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer on Walnut street commencing at the end of the present sewer on said street about five (5) feet west of the west line of College avenue, thence running west about 360 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer commencing at the g esent manhole at the inter- section of Walnut street and alley between Third and Fourth streets, thence east on Walnut street to alley.between First and Second streetp thence south on said last named alley; the approximate length of such sewer being 1160 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer commencing at a point about 335 feet north of the' north line of Elm street, on Fifth street, thence west to the al* between Santa Fe avenue and Fifth street, thence north in said alley; the approximate length of such sewer being 465 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer a4wwr on Ninth street, commencing at the Pres- ent manhole on Ninth street and in line with Washington avenue, thence north to Morrison avenue; the approximate length of such sewer being 350 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer on Ninth street commencing at the present man- hole on South and Ninth streets, thence south to conncet with the manhole to be built under Sewer No. at Ninth street and Morrison avenue; the approximate length of such sewer being 725 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer on Phillips street, to commence at the end of the present sewer on said street about five feet south of the south line of South street and run south about 350 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer on Thirteenth street, commencing at the present manhole on Elm and Thirteenth streete running thence north to a point north of the right of way of the Union Pacific Railroad; the approximate length of such sewer being 950 feet. A ten (10) inch sewer, with one, catch Y�a.sin, in the intersection of �I , Seventh street with Iron avenue, the approximate length of such sewer being 63 feet. at and for the prices given and specified in the said proposal of this day filed with the city clerk, and, for the different sewers and the different catch basins and manholes as specified. and described in said bid or proposal, and which said bid and proposal of the said �� � p p ,M ,..�,�-ti ,t���--��s, hereby specially referred to Band made a part of this ordinance in all re- spects as if the same were written out in.full herein. Sec. 2.
