An ordinance. making alevy of taxes for general revenue and other pur
poses- in the city of Salina, Kansas, for the_= year 1912.
Be it ordained by- the Mayor and Councilmen of the .City of Salina:--
Section
alina:--Section 1. That the sum of four and eight.- tenths (.004.8) mills
on the dollar be and the same is hereby levied on all real, mixed and
personal property in the city of Salina., Kansas, for the year 1912, for
the following purposes, and apportioned and divided as follows, viz:
For general revenue, two mills (.002) on the dollar.
For opening and improving streets and alleys, building bridges,
culverts and crossings, one mill (.001) on the dollar.
For a sinking fund, seven -tenths of a mill (.0007) on the dolla.r.
For paying interest on outstanding bonds, five tenths of a mill
(.0005) on the dollar.
For the support of a free public library, two-tenths of a mill
(.0002) on the dollar.
For paying.the annual installments of and interest on bonds issued
during the years 1906, 1907, 1909, 1910, 1911 and 1912 to pay for the
paving, curbing, guttering and improving of the squares and areas of
streets, four -tenths of a mill (.0004).on the dollar.
Sec. 2. That one and four"tenths mills (.001.4) on the dollar be
and the same is hereby.levied on all real estate in.the city of Salina,
Kansas, for the year 1912, for the purpose of paying the annual install-
ments of and interest on outstanding sewer bonds issued on the dates of
January 2, 1905, January 1, 1907, July 1, 1908, January 1, 1909, July
1, 1909, March 1, 1910,'and September 1, 1511.
Sec. 3. The .valuation of the property upon which the foregoing
taxes are levied and assessed is, in all cases, taken from the assessment
rolls of the present year in the county clerk's office of Saline countyj
Kansas; and it shall be the duty of the city clerk, immediately upon
the passage and publication of this ordinance, to transmit a duly cer-
of ied copy of the same to the coifity clerk of Saline county, Kansas,
to be placed upon the tax rolls to be collected according to law.
Seca 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication.once in the Salina Evening Journal.
