An Ordinance providing for the sale of certain real property owned
by the city of Salina..
V-1I71R}SAS, George Caldwell of. Salina, Kansas, has made a propm=
sition to the city of Salina to purchase the property known as the
old City Hall property located on North Santa Fe avenue, the scarce
being the South Half (SI) of. Lot No.Ni.nety One (91) on Santa Fe
avenue, in the city of Salina, Kansas, and has agreed to pay, the
for said property
sum of $11, 500.00/in .the following manner, to -wit:
Fifteen Hundred ($1500.00) Dollars, in. cash upon the execution of a.
contract therefor as hereinafter pronvided; and One Hundred ($100.(00
Dollars per month until the sura of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars
and interest at Six.(6) per cent per annum is wholly paid; said
first monthly payi;zent to be made on the ls't day of Oc't-ober, 1912,
and,
11HEMEAS, said real estate is no further needed for city 'purposes
and. should be sold;and,
1",IIEREAS, the proposal of the said George Caldwell is the best
proposal made to the city for the purchase of said property, noir,
therefore,
Be it Ordained by the Mayor. and Councilmen of the city of Salina:
Sec6ion 1. The .I."ayor and Council hereby accept the proposal
of the said George Caldwell,so as aforesaid made, and the Idayor.
and city clerk are hLareby authorized to enter into a written contract
on behalf of said city. of Salina with the said George Caldwell :mhere-
bv the said city of Salina s11a,11. contract with said George Caldwell
for the sale to hire of the property known as the old City Hall
bui-1_ding on North Santa Fe avenue, the same being the South Half
S2) of Lot No.Ninety One (91)^&n the city of. Salina, Kansas, for the
SUM of �p11,500.00 upon the terms and conditions hereinbefore set
f orth.
Sec. 2. That a copy_of said contract when so executed by said
Caldwell and said Iiayor abd Clerk shall be deposited together with a
deed to said premises with the Traders State Bank of Salina, Kansas,
and that upon the payment by said George Caldwell of the amount of
r_ioney due thereunder said Bank shall, and is hereby authorized, to
deliver said deed to the said grantee therein named; but, if default
shall be made by said George Caldwell in any of the conditions or
payments stipulated in said contract to be made and performed by ]nidi,
then said. deed for, such property ,hall be returned to said city of
Salina by said Traders State Bank and said contract shall become and
tFe forfeited. by said city as provided in said contract and any and
all payments made by said George Caldwell under and in pursuance of
said contract shall be retained by said city as and for rent due it
from said Caldwell for the use and occupancy of said T)r.operty up to
the time o-`' said default on the part of said Caldwell.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
