Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Sect%on 1. That section four (4) of Ordinance No. 1552, passed and approved April 18, 1910, and being an ordinance entitled "An ordi- nance relating to levying a license taxon public vehicles used for carrying and transporting passengers or merchandise for pay in the city of Salina,; regulating and prescribing the rights and duties of the owners 11 and drivers of such vehicles, prescribing penalties for the violations of this ordinance, and repealing Ordinance No. 880, approved March 30, 189.5; .Ordinance No. 898, aapproved August.:24,, 1895; Ordinance No. 1015, v approved September 18, . sand section 34 of Ordinance No. 635, ,ap- proved March 7, 1888; and all other ordinances. and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance;" be amended so as to read as follows, to-I,it: "RATES CHARGED FOR LICENSE. Sec. 4. The amounts to be paid for a license 'under this ordinance are as follows, viz: i (a) 'For any automobile hack or non -horse vehicle usdd for the transportal,tion of passengers,t $30.00 per annum, or major part thereof, for any such vehicle. (b) For any cab, hack, carriage or vehicle draimn by horse or horses, used -for th transportation of passengers -and -baggage, $15;00 i per annum, or major portion thereof, for each such vehicle; Provided, .that any person licensing more than two vehicles, awned by him, under ih this sub-sl'ection', shall pay at the rate of $10.00 per annum on each such a vehicle over and above two such vehicles. (c) For any automobile delivery wagon, transfer wagon, or non- hors_e wagon used. for transportation of goods, wares and merchandise, l .4'" $2.5..00 per annum, or major portion thereof, for each such vehicle.. / Q (d) For any dray wagon, transfer or delivery wagon, or vehicle drawn by horse or horses, used in the transportation of goods, wares and merchandise, $7.50 per annum, or major portion thereof, for each such vehicle; Provided, that any person licensing more than two vehicles', owned by him, under this sub -se ion, shall pay at the rate of $5.00 II per annum on each vehicle over and above two such vehicles. ii (e) For any omnibus , or other vehicle, drawn by horses or pro- pelled by of locomotive power (excepting street cars),, running to and from railroad. stati ns and hotels or on esti-bl`ished routes in the city, and used in such business onlyb, $10:00 per annlun o;r major portion thereof, for each such vehicle; Prov Med. that any ;erson licensing more than two vllehicles, owned by him, under this sub-sec+ion, shall pay at the rate, -o $7.50 per annum on each vehicle over Nand: above ®tiro, such vehicles. Sec. 2. The provisions of this ordinance shall only apply to and effect ma# such license rates heretofore prescribed in original section 4 of Ordinance No. 1552 which expire on the 30th day of June, 1912. Sec. 3. That original section four (4) of Ordinance No. 1552 be and the same is hereby repealed. II Sec. 4.
