1663 Improvements Morrison Ave(Published in the Salina Evening Journal June __, 1912. ) ORDINANCE NO. �� o An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be used and letting the contract for the paving and excavating and for the curbing and guttering of ce4tain portions of Morrison avenue in the city of Salina. Whereas, under the provisions of Ordinance No.1656, of the city of Salina, the mayor and council determined to pave, curb and gutter Morrison avenue, between the east line of Tenth street and the west line of Ninth street; and Whereas, proposals for doing such paving, curbing and guttering of said street have been filed with the city clerk, as provided in said Ordinance No.1656, and such proposals have been examined by the said mayor and council and the proposal of ✓-z�— is hereby found and determined to be the most satisfactor,� and responsible proposalfor the kind and character of pavement hereinafter designated and selected; and, Whereas, the proposal of is hereby found and determined to be the most satisfactory and respon- sible proposal .for the curbing and guttering of said street, within the limits aforesaid; and, Whereas, the cost of paving and excavating, and of curbing and. guttering said street under thkd proposals aforesaid does not exceed the estimated cost of the same as heretofore estimated by the city engineer of the city of Salina and now on file with the city clerk; therefore, \ ` Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: Section 1. That tho mayor and council hereby determine that said Morrison avenue, above defined, shall be paved with{ pavement on a five (5) inch concrete base, as specified in the specifications of the city engineer therefor filed by him with the city clerk on the 19th day of June, 1912, and which specifications are hereby adopted and approvied as and for the specifications for the paving, curbing and guttering of said street; and such material is hereby selected as and for the pavement for said street, Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to �a-v- for the paving and excavating of said Morrison avenue, between the west line of Ninth street and the east_ , line of Tenth-astreet, at and for the uniform price of "-�--� Dollars, per square yard for the square yards of such pavement and concrete foundation actually laid on said street, and for the excavating necessary to properly con struct_ -sudh paving said contractor, 15- �� ,..-0_ C�z - shall be paid at the rate of �� -.�.-cents per cubic yard for the cubic yards of dirt actually removed from said street, all as computed and measured by the city engineer, Sec. 3. That a contract be and is hereby let to for curbing and guttering of said street as above defined at and for the unifDrm price of ®_ per lineal four for the lineal feet of curbing and gu.tteriiig actuall-1 laid, constructed and put in place on said street, as computed and measured by the city engineer of Salina. Sec. 4. That such contracts aro awarded upon the express con- dition that the work, and improvement thus awarded shall be done in strict accordance with the specifications of the city engineer there. for, which specifications are hereby made a part of this ordinance of the contract hereby awarded. Sec. 5. The city attorney is hereby instructed to make and prepare a contract with the persons above named for the contracts herein let _and awarded to them respectively,:and that the mayor and clerk execute such contracts on the part of the city. Sec. 6.- This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed and approved June 24,1912.
