ORDINANCE NO.�� o
An Ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be used
and letting the contract for the paving and excavating, and for
the curbing and guttering of certain portions of Tenth street in
the city of Salina.
Whereas, under the provisions of Ordinance No.1658, of the city
of Salina, the mayor and council determined to pave, curb and gutter
Tenth street, between the south line of South street and the south
line of Morrison avenue; and,
Whereas, proposals for doing such paving, curbing and guttering
of said street have been filed with the city clerk, as provided in Sid
Ordinance No.1658, and such proposals have been exami4ed by tIm said

is hereby found to be the most satisfactory � p p p
for the kind and character of pavement hereinafter designated and
selected; and,
Whereas, the proposal of
is hereby found and determined to be the most satisfactory and respon-
sible proposal for the curbing and guttering of said street, witiin
the limits aforesaid; and,
Whereas, the cost of paving and excavating, and of curbing and
guttering said street under said proposals aforesaid does not exceed
the estimated cost of the same as heretofore estimated by the city
engineer of the city off; Salina and mow on file with the city clerk;
therefore
Section 1. Th t the mayor and council hereby determine that.
said Tenth street, above defined, shall be paved
pavement on a five (5) inch concrete base, as specified in the speci-
fications of the city engineer therefor filed by him with the city
clerk on the 19th day of June, 1912, and which specifications are
hereby adopted and approved as and for the specifications for/ the
paving, - curbing and guttering of said street; and such---�--��
0 _paving material is hereby selected as arrIfor the
pavement for said street.
Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to
✓`^� for the paving and excavating of
said Tenth street, between the south line of South street and the
south line of Morrison avenue, and for the uniform price of
Dollar per square yard for the
square yards of such pavement and concrete foundation actually laid
on said street, and for the excavating necessary to properly construct
such paving said contractor, cT shall be
paid at the rate of rcents per cubic yard for
the cubic yards of dirt actually removed from said street', all as cor,1-
puted and measured by the city engineer. -
Sec. 3. That a contract be. and is hereby let to or --a-
for the curbing and .guttering of sah. street
as above defined at and for the uniform prie
per lineal foot for the lineal feet of curbing and guttering actuall.*
laid, aenstructed and put in place on said street, as computed and
measured by the city engineer of Salina.
Sec. 4. That such contracts are awarded upon the express con-
dition that the work and improvement thus awarded shall be done in
stfict accordance with the specifications of the city engineer there-
for, ra,hich specifications are hereby made apart of this ordinance and
of the contract hereby awarded.
Sec. 5. The ci6y attorney is hereby instructed to make and pre-
pare a contract with the persons above named for the contracts herein
let and
awarded to them respectively,
and
that the mayor and clerk
execute
such contracts on the part of
the
city.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and_be'in force from
and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
