Whereas,, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 1657, of the city of Salina, the mayor and council determined to pave, curb and gutter, Mut- berry street, between the west line of Santa Fe avenue and the east line of Ninth street, execpt the intersection at Eighth and Mulberry streets; and, Whereas., proposals for doing such paving, curbing an# guttering of said street have been filed with the city clerk, as provided in said Ordinance No. 1657, and such proposals have been examined by the said mayor and council and the proposal of�-tf - is hereby found and determined to be the most satisfactory and respon- sible proposal for the kind and character of pavement hereinafter desig- nated. esigarated and selected; and, Whereas the proposal of is hereby found and determined to be the most satisfactory and respon- Bible proposal for the curbing and guttering of said street, within the limits aforesaid; and, ymiz:;x hx zikxzfxz cp]MPAZX *xltgxaz]&Xxx Whereas, the cost of paving and excavating, and.of curbing and gut- tering said street under said proposals aforesaid does not exceed the estimated cost of the saiiie : as. heretofore estimated by the city engineer _,. of the city of Salina an&`-ii6W on file with the city clerk; therefore., Be it ordained by'the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1: That the mayor and council hereby determine that said Mulberry street, above defined, shall be paved with ,-— pavement on alive (5) inch concrete base, as spec if ied in the midx . :Rg&izAxaxNj&. specifications of the city engineer therefor filed by him with the city.clerk on the 19th day of June, 1912, and which specifica- tions are hereby, adopted and approved as and for the specifications for the paving, curbing and guttering of said street; and such J. -_ __ paving material is hereby selected as and for the pavement for said street. Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to �- -- for the paving and excavating of zx'dxzrarKtx. said Mulberry stre t, between the west line of Santa Fe avenue and east line of Ninth street, except the intersection at Eighth and Mul= berry, streets, at and f or the unmf orm price of �%O 6 Dollarz per square yard for the square yards of such pavement and concrete foundation actually laid on said street, and for the excavating necessary to properly construct such paving said contractor, shall } e paid at the rate of cents per cubic yard for the cubic yards of dirt actau.11y remove from said street,, all as computed and measured by the city engineer. f Sec. 3. That a contract be and is hereby let to ---curbing and guttering of said street as above def ih.ed at and for the uniform price of per lineal foot for the lineal feet of curbing and guttering actually laid, con- itructed and put in place on said street, as compucted and measured by the city engineer of Salina. Sec. 4.• That such contracts are awarded upon the express condi- tion that the work and improvement thus awarded shall be done in strict accordance with the specifications of the city engineer therefor, which specifications are hereby made a part of this ordinance and of the con- tract hereby awarded. Sec. 5.. The city attorney is hereby instructed to make and pre- pare a contract with the persons above named for the contracts herein let and awarded to them respectively, and that the mayor and clerk exceute such contracts on the part of the city.
