Item: Resolution No. 93-4605
Background: At previous study sessions and using staff reports, the Commission has
discussed the potential for the city of Salina to work with our fellow North Central
Regional Planning Commission (NCRPC) members in meeting federal and state solid
waste and landfill mandates. Specifically, we have been approached by NCRPC
member counties as to the possibility of disposal at the SaUna landfill of solid
waste generated in some or all of those regional counties.
As previously discussed in detail, this Resolution sets guidelines and authorizes
staff to begin interlocal agreement discussions with interested NCRPC counties. The
Resolution itself provides additional background information.
Recommended Action: Approve Resolution No. 93-4605.
