3371 Auth Combined Water & Sewerage Refunding Revenue Bonds1

RESOLUTION NUMBER 3371.
WHEREAS, the Combined Water and Sewage System Refunding Revenue Bonds,
Series of. 1978, in the principal amount of $4,394,000 (the ''Bonds''), have been
rated ''A'' by Moody's Investor Service, Inc. and the delivery of such Bonds must
be accomplished by June 1, 1978, in order to comply with current regulations of
the Internal Revenue Service, and
WHEREAS, the Bonds which are authorized by Ordinance Number 8635,
adopted by the City Commission on May 15, 1978, have not been printed in definiti
form at this time and it is necessary to issue a single temporary bond for each
maturity as provided in Ordinance Number 8635, said temporary bonds being in the
total principal amount of $4,394,000, which temporary bonds will be converted
into coupon bonds in definitive form as set forth in said Ordinance Number 8635•
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS, that there is hereby authorized and directed to be issued a
single temporary Combined Water and Sewage System Refunding Revenue Bond, Series
of 1978, for each maturity as provided in Ordinance Number 8635, said temporary
bonds being in the total principal amount of $4,394,000.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said temporary bonds shall be signed by the
(Mayor and. City Clerk with the seal of the City affixed thereto, registered with
the State of Kansas and delivered to the purchasers, Boettcher and Company,
Denver, Colorado, in exchange for the purchase price, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that said temporary bonds shall be surrendered and
cancelled in exchange for coupon bonds in definitive form as provided in Ordinance
Number 8635 when such coupon bonds have been printed and are available for
delivery, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the officers of the City are authorized to take
such further action, execute such further documents and do such further acts as
they feel necessary to complete the closing of the bond issue as promptly as
possible.
