RESOLUTION NUMBER 3287
A RESOLUTION HONORING THE MEMORY OF JOHN STEVENS AND EXPRESSING THE
APPRECIATION OF THE CITY OF SALINA FOR THE FAITHFUL SERVICES HE RENDERED FOR
ALL CITIES IN KANSAS.
WHEREAS, John Stevens, in his official capacity as City Commissioner
and other capacities, faithfully and with great ability served the City of
Wichita, Kansas for a number of years; and
WHEREAS, John Stevens has, by his efforts, substantially contributed
to better municipal government throughout the State of Kansas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita and all cities in Kansas have been made
a better place to Live because of his work and effort in municipal government,
SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the City of Salina, Kansas, honor the memory of John
Stevens and show its gratitude and appreciation for his faithful and dedicated
service as a public servant to the citizens of Wichita, Kansas, as a City
Commissioner, and for his public service to all Kansas cities by the adoption
of this resolution.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to spread the
contents of this resolution upon the official records of the City and to forward
a copy of the same to the family of John Stevens.
Adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, and
approved by the Mayor this 16th day of August, 1976.
