80-3510 Refuse Issue Bonds1 u RESOLUTION NUMBER 8o-3510 (Published in The Salina Journal /_.Z,I'-" , 1980) WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, finds it necessary and to the best interests of said City and its inhabitants to provide for the disposition of refuse as authorized by K.S.A. 12-2101 to 12-2112, inclusive, (the "Act") and proposes to issue bonds pursuant to K.S.A. 12-2104. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. The Board of Commissioners hereby finds and determines that it is to the best interests of said City and its inhabitants to provide for the disposition of refuse as provided for in .the Act by purchasing refuse containers and equipment, modifying vehicles for the collection of containers, purchasing landfill scales and excavating landfill pits at an estimated cost of $900,000, all of which is herein referred to as (the "Facility"). Section 2. For the purpose of paying the cost of the Facility, the Board of Commissioners shall issue the General Obligation Bonds of said City in an amount not to exceed $900,000 pursuant to the Act. Section 3. This Resolution shall be published once in the official city newspaper and said bonds shall be issued unless a petition in opposition to the same of not less than 50 of the electors of the City is filed with the County Election Officer within 30 days following such publication, in which event, the Board of Commissioners shall submit the question of the issuance of the said bonds to the voters, as provided by the Act.
