A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CERTAIN FEES REQUIRED IN CHAPTER 8 OF THE
SALINA CODE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That pursuant to Section 8-75(1) of the Salina Code the
following annual registration fees for cats and dogs are hereby established:
1. For each unneutered cat or dog, male or female . . . . . $10.00
2. For each neutered cat or dog, male or female . . . . . . 5.00
3. For each neutered and properly tatooed cat or dog,
male or female . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.00
Section 2. That pursuant to Section 8-80(2) of the Salina Code, the
fee for a replacement registration tag shall be $1.00.
Section 3. That pursuant to Section 8-94 of the Salina Code, the

following annual license fees are hereby established, provided further, that any
establishment or individual holding one of these licenses shall not be required
to register individual animal's as outlined in Section 1 of this Resolution:
1. Each kennel for more than twenty (20) cats and dogs $50.00/yr
2. Each kennel, Bobby breeder, ca.tterie, for ten (10)
or more, but less than twenty-one (21) cats and dogs 35.00/yr
3. Each kennel, hobby breeder, catteri.e, with facilities
.for less thaniten (10) cats and dogs . . . . . . . . 25.00/yr
4. Each pet shop,' riding stable, grooming shop, auction, or guard
dog service . . . . . . .25.00/yr
Section 4. That pursuant to Section 8-123(2) of the Salina Code, the
owner of any animal given tothe Supervisor to be disposed of shall be required
to make payment of a two dollar ($2.00) fee, or -a five dollar ($5.00) fee for a
litter.
Section 5. That pursuant to Section 8-124 of the Salina Code, the
owner of an impounded dog or ,cat shall be entitled to recover such animal if,
within the prescribed holding) period, such person shall appear to claim such
animal and shall make payment?, of:
1. A ten dollar 0$10.00) impoundment fee for a neutered animal.
2. A twenty dollal'r ($20.00) impoundment fee for an unneutered
animal.
3. A boarding fee,lof four dollars ($4.00) for each day, or part of
day, that such'lanimal is impounded.
4. The applicablelcity registration fee, regardless of the age of
such animal, if such owner cannot validate current registration.

Section 6. That pursuant to Sections 8-125(2) and 8-125(3) of the
Salina Code, the Supervisor shall collect the following fee for animal adoption:
1. The applicable city registration fee, regardless of age of such
animal.
The following fees for animal adoption shall become effective at such
time as the Animal.Shelter provides for the neutering of cats and dogs and shall
apply regardless of the age of the animals:
1. The City registration fee for .- meutered animals.
2. The established neutering fee, if proof of neutering cannot be
documented.
Section 7. That pursuant to Section 8-136(5) of'the Salina Code, the
charge for the removal of small dead animals from animal hospitals shall be one
dollar ($1.00) for each carcass or a minimum of five dollars ($5.00) for each
pick up.
Section 8. That the City Manager shall be vested with the responsibilit
and authority to establish the necessary administrative practices to carry out
the intent of this Resolution, to make necessary interpretation with same provided
within the meaning and intent of this Resolution.
Section 9. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and approved by the Mayor this
9th day of June, 1980.
