A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CONSIDERATION
OF ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
That consideration be given to annexation of certain land to the city
and that notice be issued and a public hearing be scheduled by adoption,
publication and mailing of the following notice:
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ANNEXATION
Notice is hereby given to any and all persons that a public
hearing will be held to consider the annexation to the City of
Salina, Kansas, of the following described land:
A tract of land located in the South Half (S/2) of Section
Nineteen (19), and in the North Half (N/2) of Section Thirty
(30), Township. Fourteen (14) South, Range Two (2) West of the
Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, being more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the south line of the South Half
(S/2) of Section Nineteen (19), Township Fourteen (14)
South, Range Two (2) West, that is four hundred thirty-
eight feet (438') west of the southeast corner of the
Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of said Section Nineteen (19);
Thence North zero degrees thirty-five minutes West
(N 00°35' W) a distance of seven.hundred fifteen and
seven tenths feet (715.7');
Thence North eighty-seven degrees eight minutes East
(N'87°08' E) a distance of four hundred forty-eight and
four tenths feet (448.4') to the east line of said
Southwest Quarter (SW/4);
Thence north a distance of five hundred eighty-seven feet
(587') to the northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter
(SE/4) of said .Southwest Quarter (SW/4);
Thence east along the north line of the Southwest Quarter
(SW/4) of the Southeast Quarter (SE/4) of said Section
Nineteen (19) a distance of seven hundred thirty-seven
feet (737') to the west right-of-way line of the Flood
Control Dike;
Thence southwesterly to a point that is six hundred three
feet (603') south and six hundred fifty-six feet (656')
east of the northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter
(SW/4) of said Southeast Quarter (SE/4);
Thence southwesterly to a point that is six hundred
twenty-three feet (623') south and five.hundred eighty-
six feet (586') east of the northwest corner of the
Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of said Southeast Quarter (SE/4);

Thence southwesterly to a point that is four hundred
twenty-six feet (426') east and thirty feet (30') north
of the southwest corner of said Southeast Quarter (SE/4);

feet (316') east of the southwest corner of said Southeast
Quarter (SE/4);

Thence southeasterly to a point that is three hundred
eighty feet (380') east and ninety feet (909 south of
the northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter (NE/4) of
Section Thirty (30), Township Fourteen (14) South, Range
Two (2) West;
Thence southwesterly to a point that is two hundred
sixty-seven (267') east and three hundred seventy-three
feet (373') south of the northwest corner of said Northwest
Quarter (NE/4);
Thence west a distance of one hundred sixty-two feet
(162') thence south to the middle of the old channel 'of
the Smoky Hill River;
Thence westerly along the middle of the said old channel
to the west line of said Northeast Quarter (NE/4);
Thence north along said west line to the northwest corner
of said Northeast Quarter (NE/4);
Thence west along the south line of the Southwest Quarter
(SW/4) of said Section Nineteen (19) a distance of four
hundred thirty-eight feet (438') to the point of beginning.
Said tract contains 29.5 acres, more or less.
A sketch of the proposed annexation is attached to this notice.
Said public hearing will be held at 4:00 P.M. on the 19th day of
November, 1979, in Room 200, City -County Building, 300 West Ash Street, Salina,
Kansas, by the Governing Body, at which time the City shall present a proposal
for annexation, including a plan for extension of services to the area proposed
to be annexed and hear comments from all interested persons.
Adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, and
signed by the Mayor this 17th day of September, 1979.
