RESOLUTION NUMBER. 82-3623
A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE
DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT; REPEALING.RESOLUTION NUMBER 81-3569.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That in accordance with the provisions of Section 22-145
of the Salina Code, the following parking restrictions and regulations shall
apply to parking in the downtown business district of the City of Salina, Kansas,
to -wit:
A. Parking meters shall be removed from all public parking
lots and on street locations in the downtown area, except those
located on Iron Avenue and South Eighth Street adjacent to the
U. S. Post Office, as designated by the City Manager.
B. The maximum time limit for parking motor vehicles in the
downtown area shall be for a period of not to exceed two (2)
consecutive hours in any parking stal.l; provided however,
that vehicles displaying a long term parking permit issued
by the City shall be entitled to park in excess of said limitation
in those ares designated for long term parking and so signed.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to implement these
regulations and to adopt the necessary administrative procedures and to make all
decisions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution.
Section 3. The provisions of this resolution shall be in effect upon
adoption of this resolution and upon the installation of appropriate signs or
markings giving notice thereof.
Section 4. That Resolution Number 81-3569 is hereby repealed.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
15th day of November, 1982.
