RESOLUTION NUMBER 82-3622
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas (the "City")
hereby finds and declares that there exists within the City a serious shortage
of decent, safe and sanitary housing which persons and families of low and
moderate income can afford; and
WHEREAS, under the laws of the State of Kansas, the City has authority to
provide for and to cooperate in the implementation of single family housing
finance programs for the purpose of assisting persons of low and moderate income
in acquiring and improving decent, safe and sanitary housing within their means;
and
WHEREAS the Governing Body hereby further finds and declares that it will
be in the best interests of the City to cooperate with Saline County, Kansas,
together with such other cities and counties as may enter into agreements with
Saline County, for the purpose of implementing and carrying out such single
fam.ily housing program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Governing Body of the City of Salina,. Kansas hereby
expresses its intent to cooperate with Saline County, Kansas, together with such
other cooperating cities and counties as may enter into agreements with Saline
County, Kansas,. in connection with and for the purpose of developing and im-
plementing a single family housing finance program to assist persons of low and
moderate income residing within the City in acquiring and improving decent, safe
and sanitary housing within their financial means.
SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of Salina, Kansas is hereby authorized
and directed to deliver a copy of this Resolution as evidence of the City of
Salina, Kansas' interest and intent to the Board of County Commissioners of
Saline County, Kansas.
