87-3884 Auth CDBG Application1 1 1 (Published in The Salina Journal Marchl 1987) RESOLUTION NUMBER 87-3884 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION AND FILING WITH THE KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE OF A SMALL CITIES COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRAIJT PROGRAM APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT (HOUSING REHABILITATION) ASSISTANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1987; DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AS THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF SALINA TO ACT IN CONNECTION WITH THE APPLICATION; AND TO PROVIDE SUCH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AS MAY BE REQUIRED. BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the City of Salina, Kansas, prepare and file with the Kansas Department of Commerce an application for community improvement (housing rehabilitation) assistance under the small cities section of the Community Development Block Grant Program for Federal fiscal year 1987. Section 2. That the City Manager be designated as the applicant's chief executive officer and authorized representative. Section 3. That as the chief executive officer and authorized representative of the applicant, the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign and file the application, including all understandings, certifications, and assurances contained therein, to act in connection with the application and to provide such additional information as may be required. Section 4. That the City of Salina., Kansas hereby resolves to actively pursue housing conservation activities to include housing rehabilitation, weatherization and clearance and demolition of dilapidated structures throughout the community with special emphasis within the designated target area. Furthermore,. that the City resolves to sustain this activity, subject to available resources for approximately the next three years, at such time housing needs and future goals will be reevaluated. Section 5. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 23rd day of March, 1987. oseph M.
