RESOLUTION NUMBER 86-3857
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE SERVICE FEES TO BE CHARGED
FOR RESIDENTIAL REFUSE COLLECTION: REPEALING RESOLUTION NUMBER
83-3655.
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That in accordance with the provisions of Section 34-34 of
the Salina Code, the following fees are hereby established for each subscriber to
the city refuse collection service:
A. Each dwelling unit which places refuse at the curb or
at the alley in approved city containers - $5.40 per
month for weekly service. This type of service shall
be referred to as curbside collection.
B. Each dwelling unit that does not place refuse at the
curb, gut places city approved containers at other
approved locations on their property - $7.40 per month
for weekly service. This type of service shall be
referred to as walk-in collection.
C. Customers may change from a curbside to a walk-in
pickup no more frequently than once annually.
D. Charges for partial monthly service shall be at the rate
of $1.55 per week or any fraction thereof. The
minimum fee for starting and stopping service for any
period less than one month shall be $5.40 for curbside
service and $7.40 for walk-in service.
E. The City Manager shall have the authority and
responsibility to administer this resolution and to make
adjustments where deemed in the best interest of the
service to the customer.
Section 2. That subscribers requesting additional collection service
for refuse, which the Sanitation Department determines is not feasible to be
collected by the regular weekly service, shall be charged as follows:
A. $5.00 minimum per call.
B. All time required in loading the refuse in excess of
fifteen (15) minutes shall be charged at the rate of
$5.00 for each one-half hour or fraction thereof.
C. All such charges for additional service shall be billed
and collected along with the minimum monthly fee for
refuse collection.
Section 2. The above fees shall be effective January 1, 1987.
Section 3. That Resolution Number 83-8655 is hereby repealed.
Adopted by the Board of. Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
11th day of August, 1986.
