RESOLUTION NUMBER 85-3784
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING IT NECESSARY TO APPROPRIATE
PRIVATE PROPERTY FOR THE USE OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING APPROXIMATELY 290 TO 350 OFF-STREET
PARKING SPACES, ARCADES AND CROSSWALKS IN THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS
DISTRICT AS AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION NUMBER 85-3779 AND
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE A SURVEY AND
DESCRIPTION OF THE LAND NECESSARY FOR SUCH PURPOSES.
BE -IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section % It appears necessary that the City of Salina, Kansas,
acquire by purchase or by proper authorization and proceedings in eminent
domain, certain parts, parcels and tracts of land necessary for the purpose of
constructing approximately 290 to 350 off-street parking spaces, arcades and
crosswalks in the Downtown Business District as authorized by Resolution
Number 85-3779 and authorizing and directing the City Engineer to make a
survey and description of the land necessary for such purposes.
Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby directed and instructed to
cause to be prepared a certificate showing the result of such survey over his
signature and to cause the same to be filed with the Office of the City Clerk of
the City of Salina, Kansas. Said report of the City Engineer shall contain a
description of the lands necessary for such purposes.
Section 3. After the filing of said survey and report of the City
Engineer in t' e of ice of the City Clerk, the City Attorney be and he is hereby
directed to cause a proper ordinance to be prepared and submitted to the Board
of Commissioners for consideration for the appropriation proceedings relating to
said lands.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and
after its a opt do and publication once in the official city newspaper.
Adopted by the Board. of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
20th day of May, 1985.
