RESOLUTION NUMBER 85-3780
A RESOLUTION DELINEATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECT AREA AND DECLARING THE PROJECT
AREA TO BE BLIGHTED.
WHEREAS, the following described property lies within the Corporate
limits of the City of Salina, Kansas; and
.WHEREAS, said area contains a substantial number of deteriorated and
deteriorating structures, thereby creating unsafe conditions and significantly
impairs and arrests sound growth of the City of Salina; and
WHEREAS, continuation of these conditions is likely to increase without
positive action, SO NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the property described as follows, to wit:
Lots 80 through 138 alternating, on 4th Street; Lots 79
through 138, inclusive on 5th Street; Lots 140 through
168, alternating on 5th Street;' Lots 79 through 168,
inclusive on Santa Fe Avenue; Lots 79 through 138,
inclusive on 7th Street; Lots 139 through 167,
alternating on 7th Street; Lots 79 through 137,
alternating on 8th Street; Lots 1 through 5, inclusive
on Walnut Street and the property designated as School
Park, all in the Original Townsite of the City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas
is hereby declared to be the project area included within the application to the
Kansas Department of Economic Development for the Community Development
Block Grant funds.
Section 2. That the area hereinabove described is hereby declared to
be blighted.
,Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
13th day of May, 1985.
