Kansas 1 1 71 RESOLUTION NUMBER 89-4104 A RESOLUTION DIRECTING AND ORDERING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADVISABILITY OF SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS IN CERTAIN DISTRICTS AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH HEARING. BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: That a public hearing shall be held by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the advisability of the following improvements: Property line sidewalk along the east side of OHIO STREET from Greeley Avenue to Martin Avenue; Greeley Avenue to Martin Avenue; Curb line sidewalk along the east side of PLANET AVENUE from Otto Avenue to Magnolia Road; Otto Avenue to Magnolia Road; Curb line sidewalk along the north side of SATURN AVENUE from Planet Avenue to the east side of Ninth Street; I Curb line sidewalk along the north side of MAGNOLIA ROAD from Planet Avenue to the east side of Ninth Street; Curb line sidewalk along the south side of MAGNOLIA ROAD from the east side of Ninth Street west and south to the parking lot at Mid State Mall. on the 7th day of August, 1989, at 4:00 p.m., in the City Commission Meeting Room, City -County Building, as provided by K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6a18. . The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $92,717.42. The apportionment of cost between the Improvement District and the City -at -large is as follows: 1. Costs chargeable to private property in the amount of $24,628.03. 2 Costs chargeable to the City -at -large in the amount of $68,089.39. The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as a special tax upon the property included within the benefit district concurrent with the general property taxes and shall be payable in Four (4) equal annual installments. The method of assessment shall be based on the square footage of the sidewalk actually constructed. The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the Board of Commissioners shall have made findings by Resolution as to the advisability of the improvement district, the method of assessment and the apportionment of the cost between the improvement district and the City -at -large, All as finally determined by the Board of Commissioners, provided, the area of the improvement district may be less than, but shall not exceed the area proposed to be assessed as stated in this notice without giving notice and holding a new hearing on the improvement. All persons desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed improvement will be heard at this meeting.
