ORDINANCE NUMBER 07-10388
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE II, SECTION 8-163 OF
THE SALINA CODE PERTAINING TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BUILDING
ADVISORY BOARD AND REPEALING EXISTING SECTION 8-163.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the city of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 8-163 of Chapter 8, Article II of the Salina Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"See. 8-163. Membership.
The board shall consist of eleven (11) members, including one (1) of each of the following:
(1) Licensed architect or engineer.
(2) Licensed architect or engineer.
(3) Realtor.
(4) Plumbing contractor.
(5) Master or journeyman plumber.
(6) Electrical contractor.
(7) Master or journeyman electrician.
(8) Master or journeyman mechanic.
(9) Heating and air-conditioning contractor.
(10) Class B or C building contractor.
(11) Class A or B building contractor.
For the purposes of this section, a contractor's membership on the Board may be held by an
owner of the contracting business or by the owner's designated representative. Such
designee shall be employed by the contracting business and shall either be a licensed master
or journeyman or in the case of building contractors, shall be the contractor's designated
qualified individual."
Section 2. That the existing Section 8-163 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption
and publication once in the official city newspaper.
