An Ordinance providing for the repairing and re-laying of certain
sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Sec. 1. That the sidewalks in front of and adjacent to the following
described real estate in the City of Salina, Kansas, to -wit:
On the South side of Beloit Avenue.
Lot (13) on Santa Fe Avenue'in the Grounds of the K. V. U.
Lot (19) on Beloit Avenue in the Grounds of the K. W. U.
On the West side of Santa"Fe Avenue.
Lots (6 & 8), Block (13) in Bonds Addition to the City "of Salina, Kans.
On the East side of Eleventh Street.
Lot (1) on Eleventh St. in Seitz's Addition to the City of Salina, Kans.
On the East side of Ninth Street.
Lots (45 & 46) on Elm St. and the West Half of Lot (44) on Eighth St.
all in the original town of Salina, Kansas.
West side of Lot (8), Block (3), Phillips E. Salina Addtion,.
be and the same are hereby vondemned as unsafe and unfit for public use,
and that such sidewalks or parts of such sidewalks shall be rebuilt, re-
constructed and re-layed by the owner of the property abutting such sidewalk,
on or before the 30th day of October 1913, as in this ordinance provided.
. Sec. 2. That the city engineer is hereby directed to furnish the grade
to which all of the foregoing described sidewalks shall be raised upon re-
quest of the owner or owners of the property on which such sidewalk abuts,
and all of such sidewalks shall, on or before the 30th day of October 1913,
be re-laid, repaired and re -constructed to correspond with such grade so
given and made.
Sec. 3. The committee on sidewalks of°the city council shall, as soon
as practicalbe, after the 30th day of October 1913, cause'all of such side-
walk hereinbefore described to be repaired and -re-laid as in this rodin<<nce
provided where the owner or owners of the same fail or refuse to repair the
same, and shall report their proceedings together with the length and di-
mensions of said walk so repaired and the cost of the same to the city
council.
Sec. 4. The expense ofrepairing said walk by said city shall be assessed
against the 'real estate abutting thereon according to the `front foot thereof,
and certified and collected as other taxes against said real estate.

Sec. 1. It is hereby ordered that the main or Ash Street sewer in
the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be extended from its present terminus
at the Smoky Hill River, where the same intersects with or near to Front
Street, east on said Ash Street, to a point in said Smoky Hill River just
east of Ohio Street at the eastern end of Ash Street, and such extension
shall be constructed as herein provided.
Sec. 2. The plans and specifications for such sewer extension and
of the construction of the same, made and prepared by the city engineer
of said city and now on file with the city clerk, are hereby adopted and
approved as and for the plans and specifications for such work and im-
provement, and the same and every part thereof are hereby made a part of
this ordinance in all respects as if the same were written out in full
herein, and all the work and improvement specified and described in said
plans and specifications shall be done and performed in strict compliance
with such plans and specifications and under the direction of said city
engineer aforesaid.
Sec. 3. After the passage, approval by the mayor or disapproval
and veto -by the mayor and passage over such veto, and publication of
this ordinance the city clerk shall advertise for bids for the construct-
ion of the improvement`provided for in this ordinance. Such advertisement
shall be printed in such or papers as the mayor and council may direct,
and shall be printed for a period of.thirty.(30) days, and such advertise-
ment shall statethe time viten such bids 'shall be received and opened,
which shall be Decet_n .er 1st, 1913; and u_;!)on receipt and opening of such
bids, the mauor and council_ 17t�l_y, and are hereby authorized to let the
contract for the construction of such sewer extension to the most satis-
